Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting.

First of all, let's make one thing clear: I created this blog because I could not be a bigger Cumberbitch if a tried and I wanted to be part of this epic fandom. Now I want to marry said fandom.

So who am I?
Name: E. T. Henderson
Age: 19 more or less
Sex: Fairer
Nationality: Swedish and Irish
Occupation: Professional Tea-drinker
Obsessions: Benedict, Sherlock, Cabin Pressure, Martin Freeman, Tolkien-related stuff, Adventure Time, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic etc. etc... Being on tumblr has also hastened the process of turning me in to a Whovian, naturally. :)

Right, so I’ve been coming up with design ideas for how the ‘Lemons and Landmarks’ book might look. Since it’s not my book, but that of everyone who has taken part in any capacity, I’ll share ideas at every stage so that people can comment and I can make adjustments based on your suggestions.

The book is A4 and we have to decide whether to choose to have the book portrait, landscape or a mixture of the two. Essentially, the format is going to look something like this:-

Cover: Design to be chosen by poll on the 30th May.

Contents page: Background to be decided- possibly one of the other cover designs.

Foreword: A letter from Chess and myself to Mr Finnemore explaining what the project is and why / how it was put together along with a few pictures we took and a map to show the scope. Background to be decided. Possibly old letter paper with an ‘airmail’ background?

Crew: Since we have pictures of Benedict Cumberbatch, Roger Allam and, with any luck, we will have Stephanie Cole with a lemon, this will be the page for them. We’re also going to leave a space for a certain someone, get him to pose with a lemon when we give him the book, take a picture with a polaroid camera and stick it in there and then. Background to be decided.

Letter pages: Before each lot of pictures, we’re going to have letter pages with a mixture of artwork and collages of the pictures which can’t quite fit on the main ‘places’ pages. None of your photos will be wasted. Background to be decided.

Place pages: ‘Big’ places with numerous landmarks and photos will have whole pages (and possible double page spreads) to themselves. These will have an old postcard from the location in the top left hand corner (see the Berlin example above) and the photos will sit within ‘postcards’ like the one above. Background will possibly resemble old envelope paper in a fairly neutral tone and in the bottom left hand corner there will be a selection of old stamps from that place, artfully arranged. Pictures will be captioned and messages will also appear within a postcard in a ‘handwriting’ style font.

Smaller place pages: Smaller places with fewer photos will share a page. There will be more of the same, but on a smaller scale. Possibly the place pages will also have little maps.

Final pages: More photos we didn’t have room for in collages alongside cover ideas we couldn’t use and messages from people who didn’t have time to submit lemons.

Back cover: Possibly the cover design which comes second.

Now it’s over to you. Please let us know what you think! Comment, ask, or send us e-mails at lemonsandlandmarks@gmail.com. Also, if anyone has Photoshop skills at some time to do mock-up pages for us, that would be wonderful beyond expression.

A month ago we met with Sherlockology who told us of an idea to support the Save Undershaw campaign - to create a book containing stories written by fans, authors and celebrities to show their support for the preservation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s home. The campaign is being led by the…

Calling all members of the Cabin Crew, I have a proposal for you. I was thinking last night (as I occasionally do) and hit upon an idea of how we might show Mr Finnemore a measure of just how many fans he has and how much we appreciate his work.

With this in mind, I thought it might be an idea to send him pictures of ‘lemons by landmarks’ (it sounds like a modern art piece) all over the world, taken by the fans who live there and delivered along with a message. Or, to put the plan in the form of lists…

It has come to my attention that even though we are a tiny and loving fandom, many of us do not know each other. This is entirely unacceptable.

So! In ONE WEEK, I will be making a masterpost of Cabin Crew/Cabin Pressure blogs. To get on this list, all you have to do is REBLOG this post no later than MIDNIGHT PACIFIC TIME, MARCH 27. Any reblogs of this post after that time will not be counted. Don’t worry if you miss this date, if there is a lot of interest I will do a second round of reblogs for people to get on the list.

Basically, we are all fantastic and we all should know each other. Reblog away my darlings! Please try to keep it to one reblog per person to save my dashboard and my sanity though.

BRILLIANT!
